Health & Communities

Communities

How our local community interacts can shape our lives. As can how we feel going about our lives in other parts of our city.

London should be a city where all can access and experience facilities, skills, and opportunities. This is the space to talk about what brings people together and achieves accessibility, equality and harmony.

Join in with a discussion or feel free to start up your own.

Trees are the lungs of London

Communities

As trees filter pollutants from the air they are essential to improving the air quality of London.

2 suggestions:

1. The Mayor of London should make it policy for any tree that is felled in the capital to be replaced immediately/as soon as possible thereafter.

Over 65s Get Moving

Communities
Public Health England reports that physical activity declines with age so much that by the age of 75 years only one in ten men and one in 20 women are active enough to maintain good health, but we know that there are lots of Londoners who buck this trend.

Time to Rethink the Politics of London?

Communities

Since 1997 local politicians have seen their "pay" rise massively from expenses paid to the state today where they are remunerated exceptionally well for their time.

London saw in the new year with fireworks and last year celebrated occasions such as St. Patricks Day, the Diamond Jubilee, Diwali and of course the 2012 Games.

Do events that bring people together like these help to create stronger communities?

The Power of ONE!

Communities

Having a debilitating illness which has severely curtailed my work efforts, and being a hyperactive person, I had to work out how I could keep myself occupied, while not falling into victim mode!
