It is estimated that between 2 and 3% of the population have electro-sensitivity and 1% of the population are now considered to be SERIOUSLY ILL due to the condition. The European Parliament has recognised real physical electro-sensitivity as a physiological disability. In addition to this, the Council of Europe, a human rights' watchdog, has recommended its member states, including the UK, provide white zone social housing (housing in areas where there are low levels of EMF and no Wi-Fi radiation) to its electro-sensitive citizens.
Yet the UK provides no treatment for the medical condition electro-sensitivity in the NHS and UK central and local Government provide no white zone social housing to electro-sensitives. In addition to this, electro-sensitives too ill to remain in employment due to their condition are being denied disability benefits.
Recently, I writ to the mayor to request advice upon his position of white zone housing for electro-sensitives. I was advised in a response from City Hall to my enquiry that of the £3.1 billion which the mayor has secured from the Government for affordable housing, none of it will be used to provide white zone housing to electro-sensitives. In addition to this, I was also advised that the mayor has no plans in the future for the provision of any white zone housing. A full copy of the response to my enquiry from City Hall from Fiona Wright has been posted below.
Scientists around the world are now warning governments and the public of the mounting irrefutable evidence of the hazards to human and animal health posed by WI-FI and microwave radiation. Yet today, the mayor posts to his twitter account a photograph of him and Apple executives smiling with the tweet, "Delighted to welcome @Tim_Cook to City Hall to discuss access to talent, digital skills & Apple’s investment in London #LondonIsOpen":
How can the mayor justify the accusation his predecessor’s, Boris Johnson’s intentional and deliberate ignorance of the health crisis posed by London air pollution when he himself ignores the health crisis now posed by dangerous levels of radiation exposure to the public. Levels of radiation which both the Chinese and the Russian Governments would consider too dangerous to expose their own citizens to.
Copy of the Response from City Hall Regarding my Enquiry upon the Provision of White Zone Housing:
Dear Ms XXXXX,
Re: white zone housing
First of all thank you again for your email and your patience in awaiting a reply from us. I am truly sorry that you are suffering.
I am concerned that you do not consider your home appropriate for your needs. However, the allocation of council and housing association housing is the responsibility your local council and something that they must do within a clear legal framework. I can see from your correspondence that you have been in communication with them.
Social housing is in high demand and there are major challenges in building sufficient affordable homes within London, although the Mayor has made this his number one priority and recently secured £3.1 billion from Government to deliver 90,000 affordable homes for Londoners to rent and buy by 2021. We are not aware of a binding European Union directive to all member states to provide white zone housing to its citizens affected by electro-sensitivity, only a non-binding recommendation from Council of Europe. It is not our current policy to propose white zone housing zones for sufferers of electro-sensitivity. However, we do keep our policies under review.
Very best wishes
Dr Fiona Wright
