As a Londoner born and bred, I am very proud of our city. However, over Christmas with friend and family visiting, I was surprised to see that the dome of St Paul's was not illuminated. As one of the greatest landmarks in the world, should we not be showing this off, so enhancing the city for all? Can you imagine going to New York only to find that the Statue of Liberty was in darkness, or to Paris and the Eifel Tower wasn't lit? In these post-Brexit referendum times, shouldn't we be showing off our beautiful city, not shrouding it in darkness?
I'd like to know the reason behind this move.
